✿ Materials
1. Yarn: I recommend you use a chenille / microfiber yarn which is suitable with 3.5mm hook. The yarn I use is 2mm in size (I measured it with ruler). I prefer to just measure the yarn size like this so that everyone can get access to the yarn as every country has different terms for yarn size.

Cookie
Size
In this pattern, there are 2 sections of the same pattern of the cookie bear with a different stitches. The first section is going to be the small version of the cookie bear which I made in the guide video above. The second section is the big version. The reason why I decided to make it into two different sizes is because I wanted the small version to be easy for beginners so it is only made up of basic stitches. Choose which size you prefer and start making the cookie bear!
i) Size 1 (small)
For size 1, we're going to make single crochets for round 1 - 3. This will make the perfect base for the small cookie.
Round 1: We're going to make a fake magic ring. To do a fake magic ring, you're going to make a slip knot and ch 2. Skip the first ch and you're going to insert all stitches (the next step) in the 2nd chain. Basically the 2nd chain is your magic ring.
In your magic ring, insert 8sc, sl st
Round 2: Ch 1, Inc x 8, sl st
Round 3: Ch 1, (Inc, 1sc) x 8, sl st
Round 4: (Sl st, skip, 4hdc, skip) x 6
★ Fasten off. To fasten off, ch 1 and cut your yarn. Then, pull through all the yarn and pull the end to tighten up the ch 1.
★ Repeat the steps above to make one more cookie.
ii) Size 2 (big)
For size 2, instead of making single crochets on round 1 - 3. We're going to make half double crochets. This will make the cookie bigger than size 1.
Round 1: We're going to make a fake magic ring. To do a fake magic ring, you're going to make a slip knot and ch 2. Skip the first ch and you're going to insert all stitches (the next step) in the 2nd chain. Basically the 2nd chain is your magic ring.
In your magic ring, insert 8hdc, sl st
Round 2: Ch 1, Inc x 8, sl st
Round 3: Ch 1, (Inc, 1sc) x 8, sl st
Round 4: (Sl st, skip, 4hdc, skip) x 6
★ Fasten off. To fasten off, ch 1 and cut your yarn. Then, pull through all the yarn and pull the end to tighten up the ch 1.
★ Repeat the steps above to make one more cookie.
Fillings
The flavor of the fillings depends on the yarn color that you choose. Let's say you want a strawberry fillings then make the fillings with pink yarn!
Round 1: We're going to make a fake magic ring. To do a fake magic ring, you're going to make a slip knot and ch 2. Skip the first ch and you're going to insert all stitches (the next step) in the 2nd chain. Basically the 2nd chain is your magic ring.
8hdc, sl st
Round 2: Ch 1, Inc x 8, sl st
Round 3: Ch 1, (Inc, 1sc) x 8, sl st
Round 4: Ch 1, insert 1hdc in each st (FRONT LOOP ONLY), sl st
Round 5: Ch 1, (Dec, 1sc) x 8, sl st
Round 6: Ch1, (Dec x 8), sl st
Stuff the fillings with a little stuffings.
Fasten off: By round 6 you should have a small hole. So we're going to sew the hole close. First, cut your yarn and leave some ends to sew the hole close. Then, with your darning needle insert your yarn through the centre of each stitches. You don't have to pull too tight. After you have inserted your yarn through each stitch, pull the end of your yarn slowly until the hole close.
Don't pull it too hard until the yarn snap!!
Lastly, weave in the excess yarn.
Ears
I am going to start with a yellow yarn and change my yarn into the brown yarn. This is so that the centre of the ear is in yellow and the outer part is the same color as our bear.
Round 1: We're going to make a fake magic ring. To do a fake magic ring, you're going to make a slip knot and ch 2. Skip the first ch and you're going to insert all stitches (the next step) in the 2nd chain. Basically the 2nd chain is your magic ring.
Insert 6sc into the ch 2 space. Before you finish off the last sc, change your yarn into a brown yarn which is the same yarn as the bear.
Round 2: With a brown yarn, Ch 1 and turn your work. Insert 1 sc in each st <6>
★ Repeat and make one more. Then, all you need to do is sew the ears on top of the cookie.
Assembly
Cut your brown felt fabric into a round shape for the eyes. Then, with the same brown fabric cut the nose and mouth.
I also use a white felt and cut it into an oval. This will be the base for the nose and mouth.
I use a hot glue gun and glue on all the pieces. First, I glue the first cookie to the fillings. After it dries, I glue the second cookie to the fillings. For this part, you will have to make sure the curve of each cookie is align with each other and make sure to glue the back side of the cookie.
Then, I glue on the faces on the side where I sewed the ears.
Strap / keychain loop
To turn your bear into a keychain / charm, take your yarn and make a slip knot. Then, chain how long you want it to be. I did 50 chains for my cookie. After you're done, cut your yarn and pull through. With your darning needle, insert the chains at the top of the fillings while making sure it's centered. Then, take both ends and tie a few knots to secure it. Cut the excess yarn and you're done! If you want the knots more secure, put a little glue on the knots.
Yay! you're done!! You're SO AMAZING coming this far. Go ahead and admire your work, YOU did that <3 I'm so happy that you stayed till the end! Thank you for not giving up 🩷
