How to crochet duck plushie with a bonnet (no sew) | detailed (beginner-friendly)

If you’re looking for a sweet and beginner-friendly amigurumi project, this crochet duck with a bonnet pattern is the perfect place to start!! This tiny duck is soft and ADORABLE and the little bonnet adds a charming touch that makes it extra cute. In this blog post, I’ll walk you through each step so you can easily follow along, even if you’re new to amigurumi. ✿ Materials

1. 4mm microfiber yarn & 3mm microfiber yarn

2. 4 mm & 3mm crochet hook

3. Darning needle

4. Scissors

5. Key chain 

6. Stuffing

7. Plastic eyes

✿ Stitches & Abbreviation

Ch: Chain

St(s): Stitches

Sc: Single crochet

Tc: Treble crochet

Dec: Decrease

Inc: Increase

Sl st: Slip stitch

Head
Round 1: In a magic ring, make 6sc  

Round 2: Inc x 6 <12> 

Round 3: (Inc, 1sc) x 6 in each st <18>

Round 4 - 6: 1sc in each st <18>

Round 7: (Dec, 1sc) x 6 <12>

Round 8: (Dec, 1sc) x 6 <18>

★ Stuff and don’t cut. After stuffing, move on and make the body.

Body

Round 9: (Inc) x 8 <16>

Round 10: (Inc, 1sc) x 8, sl st <24>

Round 11: Ch 3, start in the 2nd ch and 1sc in each ch, 24sc, 1sc in each ch <28>

Round 12: 5sc, Front loop only: 3tc, 12sc, Front loop only: 3tc

I would recommend you mark the 3 back loops that we skip with a stitch marker. This is so that you know where the back loop is on round 13 as you have to insert stitches in it later.

Round 13: 5sc, Back loop only (where you marked): 3sc, 12sc, Back loop only (where you marked): 3sc, 5sc <28>

Round 14: Insert 1sc in each st <28>

Round 15: (Dec, 2sc) x 7 <21>

Round 16: (Dec, 1sc) x 7 <14>

Round 17: Dec x 7 <7>

★ Stuff and fasten off. Sew the hole close.

Feets

You’re going to make the right feet first. Attach a new yarn color for the feet in between of Round 14 - 15 and make sure that it is align with the wing. To attach the new yarn, just insert your hook under the stitch and ch 1. 

Round 1: Insert 1sc in the same st as the ch 1, 2sc

Fasten off.

To make the left feet, count 3 stitches from the right feet. You should have 3 stitches in between of the two feet. Then repeat the step above.

Beak

From the top of the head, count 6 rows. attach your yarn by using the same step as the feet. 

Round 1: Insert 1sc in the same st as the ch 1, 2sc

Round 2: Ch 1, sl st, 1sc, sl st

Fasten off.

Bonnet

★ Use 3mm yarn and 3mm crochet hook.

Round 1: Ch 5, 5sc

Round 2- 26: Ch 1, 5sc

Round 27: Ch 1, 1sc in the row and in the 5 ch that we did on round 1. Then at the other side, continue this pattern (skip, 5dc, skip, sl st) x 6, 5sc at the top

Then, ch how long you want the strap to tie the cape and scarf. I ch mine until it is 8cm long. After that fasten off. Next, attach your yarn at the other corner of the cape. Attach your yarn anywhere as long as it’s in the corner. Then, ch until it is the same length as the other strap and fasten off.
