Crochet teddy bear charm / keychain
There’s just something magical about tiny things, isn’t there? This little teddy bear keychain feels like it walked straight out of a dream, small enough to hang on your bag but charming enough to make you smile every time you see it. With its squishy shape and a sweet little bow tied snugly around its neck, it gives off that gentle “I’m here to keep you company” <3 In this blog, I’ll walk you through how to make this adorable bear from start to finish!! Whether you’re crafting it as a gift or keeping it for yourself (zero guilt, I would too), this mini bear is the perfect pocket-sized friend to brighten your everyday. Let’s get crocheting! 🧸✨

✿ Notes
‣ Remember to placed a stitch marker in the 1st stitch of each round. This will help you identify when each round starts / ends.
‣ You will work in a continuous round so you don’t have to make a sl st.
‣ I recommend using invisible decrease to make the teddy bear looks neater.
‣ This pattern uses US terminology.
‣ Number of stitches indicated between <xx>
✿ Materials
1. 5-ply yarn
2. Microfibre yarn to tie a ribbon around the bears’ neck (optional)
3. Any yarn for the eyes, nose and mouth
4. 4.00mm crochet hook
5. 2 stitch marker (or you can use bobby pin/paper clip)
6. Darning needle
7. Keychain (If you don’t have one, I showed an alternative at the end of my youtube video using just yarn)
8. Scissors
★ The yarn for the bear and hook size is totally up to you. You can adjust them accordingly.

Teddy bear
★ I’m using a white yarn.
Legs
Round 1: In a magic ring, insert 8sc < 8 >
Round 2-4: Insert an 1sc in each st < 8 >
Fasten off and make an invisible join. Now repeat R1-4 for the other leg but don’t cut your yarn.
Round 5: Ch1, and mark the ch 1 with a stitch marker. This is important because you will insert an Inc here later on so you need to know where is the ch1. Then, take your second leg and join it together by making 1sc. Next, continue by making 7sc, Inc in the ch1, 8sc, Inc in the ch1.
Body
Round 6-8: 1sc in each st < 20 >
Round 9: Dec, 8sc, Dec, 8sc < 18 >
Round 10: 1sc in each st < 18 >
Round 11: (1sc, dec) x 6 < 12 >
★ Stuff the body here.
Round 12: (2sc, Dec) x 3 < 9 >
Head
Round 13: 1sc, Inc, (2sc, Inc) x 2, 1sc < 12 >
Round 14: Inc in each st < 24 >
Round 15-18: 1sc in each st < 24 >
Round 19: (Dec, 2sc) x 6 < 18 >
Round 20: (1sc, Dec) x 6 < 12 >
★ Stuff the head here.
Round 21: Dec x 6 < 6 >
Then, cut your yarn and leave a long end.
★ Use a darning needle to close the rest of the head by weaving the ends into the FRONT LOOP only. Once you’ve gone into each st around pull tight to close. Lastly, fasten off.
Hands
★ For your information, I didn’t stuff the hands as I didn’t need to. When sewing it on it will automatically look full. However, if you use a bigger yarn and hook you may need to stuff it. So, you will have to be your own judge for this~
Round 1: In a magic ring, insert 6sc
Round 2-6: 1sc in each st < 6 >
Round 3: Sl st, ch1. Then, cut a long end for sewing later.
Now repeat R1-3 to make the second hand.
Ears
Round 1: In a magic ring, insert 8sc, ch1 and cut. Leave a long end for sewing.
★ Now all you need to do is sew on the hands, ears, add the face, blushers and tie a bow onto the neck! Also remember to add the keychain. If you don’t have a keychain I showed an alternative at the end of my youtube video so feel free to check it out!
Yay! You’re finally done making your own cute teddy bear <3 Hope you enjoy~
