Low sew crochet animal keychains | Beginner-friendly tutorial & quick to make

I know how much you guys love low sew projects, so this is for you! It's a quick project and perfect for beginners! Some people dislike the big cheeks but personally I think it's cute. If it's not your cup of tea, you can always adjust the stitches to make the blushers smaller. You can always customise each patterns to fit your liking. This pattern is mostly build with single crochets which is one of the basic for beginners. Have fun and happy crocheting!

✿ Notes  

‣ This pattern uses US terminology.

‣ Number of stitches indicated between <xx>

‣ Weave in any excess yarn.

✿ Materials

1. Any yarn that is suitable with 3.5mm hook

2. 3.5mm crochet hook

3. Darning needle

4. Scissors

5. Stuffing

6. Glue

7. Eyes

8. Optional: keychain ring

✿ Stitches & Abbreviation

Ch: Chain

St(s): Stitches

Sc: Single crochet

Dec: Decrease

Inc: Increase

Sl st: Slip stitch

Head

The head pattern is the same for every animals, use an X stitch single crochet.

Round 1: Ch 5, 3sc, 3sc in the same st, 2sc, 2c in the same st <10>

Round 2: Inc x 10 <20>

Round 3: (Inc, 3sc) x 5 <25>

Round 4: (Inc, 4sc) x 5 <30>

Round 5 - 10: Insert 1sc in each st <30>

Round 11: (Dec, 4sc) x 5 <25>

Round 12: (Dec, 3sc) x 5 <20>

Round 13: Dec x 10 <10> 

★ Fasten off and stuff the head. Make sure to sew the bottom by using a darning needle and the excess yarn. Align the stitches and insert it through both front loops.

Blush

The blush pattern is the same for every animals, use an X stitch single crochet.

Round 1: In a magic ring insert 9sc, sl st

Round 2: Inc x 9 <18>

★ Fasten off and glue it on the cheeks. If you prefer sewing, you can also sew it onto the cheeks! The top of the blush will be on Round 6 and the bottom of the blush will be on Round 10.

Animal parts: 
Frog eyes

Round 1: In a magic ring insert 8sc

Round 2 - 4: Insert 1sc in each st <8>

★ Fasten off. In the last round make a sl st and ch 1. Cut a long tail to sew the eyes. You will sew the eyes on Round 2 until Round 4. 

Repeat and make the other eyes.

Bear ears

Round 1: In a magic ring insert 8sc

Round 2 - 3: Insert 1sc in each st <8>

★ Fasten off. In the last round make a sl st and ch 1. Cut a long tail to sew the ears. You will sew the ears on Round 2 until Round 4. 

Bunny ears

Round 1: In a magic ring insert 9sc

Round 2 - 7: Insert 1sc in each st <9>

★ Fasten off. In the last round make a sl st and ch 1. Cut a long tail to sew the ears. You will sew the eyes on Round 1 until Round 2.
